Guys: Should I text him or not?

3 questions in one. K well I like this guy and I know he has liked me before. On the last day of school we were talking in the hall in the morning before school started and he asked if I had any big plans this summer and I said no and then he got the biggest smile on his face and he said "okay well then were hanging out" and he was like really happy when he said it. We locked eyes for a few seconds then the bell rand and we went to class and I haven't seen him sens. So question one: Given that he wanted to hang out and that we locked eyes do you think he likes me?.... Today I was hanging out with my friend and I told her I liked him and she gave me his number and told me I should text him. But don't you think that would be weird if I just started texting him. Question 2: If a girl you liked texted you would you think it was weird or cool?... Question 3: Should I text him? I just don't wanna mess up with him. Thanks
