Can't decide, stay blonde or go back to brunette? Opinions please!?

I'm naturally dark brunette. But I've been having my hair highlighted blonde for the last few years. But my roots always look so bad for like a month before I ever get my hair done again... I just can't decide it blonde is worth the hassle anymore or if I should go back to brunette... I just always feel like I looks so dull and drab with brunette hair... should I stay blonde or go back to brunette? Thanks
