Is this war romaticism?
this weekend in connecticut there was an reenactment symposium of a civil war battle.gals dressed in drab hooped skirts and lace caps gave out lemonade..little children in wonderment listened to the pop-pop as confederate soldiers surrender to union troops..this activity is popular in the north and south. you don't see world war II reenactments in europe..i do not believe.. its nice to listen to a fifth and drum corp but battle reenactments that bring these participant's enjoyment..i don't understand.i can understand the study but not dressing in uniforms and the acting of mayhem. i guess its me huh? aren't past wars romanticized and studied to ad nauseaum .i guess in england..there's a lot of saxon war type reenactments..should i take this as 'fun history'.a reenactment of a dead soldier does not agree with me.my uncle loves to dress in civil war uniform as much as possible..is this just a sad passing of time?
