What is the best way to control relaxed and unstraightened hair?

i have relaxed hair but its growing out so my curly roots are visible by like 2 inches. i dont want to straighten it in the summer and wearing it up is a drab lol whats the best way to wear it down and still look cute? Im open to multiple suggestions for different days. thanks bunches!! :)
